The U14A Schoolgirls had to travel away to play Freebooters in the League Friday evening. Up against a strong home team things were not helped when Thomastown lost 4 players through illness before the match, reducing the squad to the bare 11.
The girls started the match well and it was a fairly even affair for most of the first half. Kate O Neill produced two great saves and the full back line remained solid throughout, however just before half time Freebooters scored from a corner to lead at the break 0-1
The girls started to get tired in the second half as a result of the huge effort they put in with no subs. Freebooters went on to score 3 more goals to win yhe game in the end. Notwithstanding the result the girls gave everything and can hold their heads high. Final Score 0-4
