Our U14B Schoolgirls team took the long trip to Johnstown to play SPA United under lights on a cold freezing Thursday evening. The home team won the league last year and beat our girls twice during the season, so the knew that this was going to be a tough encounter, especially in the cold conditions.

The Thomastown girls got off to a fantastic start and goals from Zoe beck and Orla Sutton had the away team two up after twenty minutes. Zoe Beck. in particular, was outstanding and SPA couldn't cope with her speed and powerful runs, Thomastown's third goal came from Sophie McCabe with a great solo run from the halfway line. Emma Dempsey came on for the final fifteen minutes of the first half and proved to be unplayable at time causing the home defence all sorts of problems . However, just before the break SPA pulled a goal back to leave the score at 3-1 halftime.

Thomastown continued to dominate the second half and added a fourth goal from Emma Dempsey.

Conditions continued to worsen and the pitch was becoming to be dangerous to play on, so the referee had the blow up early.

Another great performance from the girls, all sixteen who came along tonight, and as always thanks to the all parents for turning up on such a bad night. Final score 4-1
