Our 14B Schoolgirls played Evergreen at home on Saturday, you are always guaranteed a tough game against the city team and playing with a depleted squad, with several girls out sick, wasn't going to make thee task any easier. The girls knew a strong performance was required on the day and that is exactly what they did.

Evergreen started the better, and with a strong wind behind them, had the home team under pressure in the first half, but the home defence held strong. The Thomastown girls got more into the game as it went on and Orla Sutton had a chance to put them one up but the Evergreen goalkeeper pulled off a great save to deny her. Evergreen then scored just before half time, from a scrappy corner, to lead at half time.

With the wind behind them Thomastown started the second half much better and were all over the away team, again the Evergreen goalkeeper pulled off another great save and it was beginning to like it wasn't going to be Thomastown's day. Then with time going against the home team's Meghan 'Beckham' Walsh broke into the Evergreen box and scored with a shot into the far corner. The girl was on fire today with her free kicks and corners and her goal was fully deserved. Thomastown pushed on for the win but it didn't happen and the game finished 1-1. Another great performance from the team, even with several girls missing and were fully deserving of their draw. The team has come on so much and these games they could have lost in the past.
