The U12 girls recorded their first win of the season away to Stoneyford. Thomastown got off to the perfect start when Lara Fargie burst through the home team’s defence & slotted home in the first minute. The remainder of the half was a midfield battle with Thomastown creating more chances but Stoney levelled up just before the break. The away team started the second half on the front foot with Caragh Dempsey causing the home team plenty of problems with her lung busting runs. Thomastown retook the lead when Lara pounced on a mistake at the back to get her second. Thomastown added a third when Caragh Dempsey picked up the ball at her own penalty box & ran the length of the pitch & played in Lara to claim her hat trick. With no subs to call on the Thomastown girls started to tire after putting in a massive effort & Stoneyford piled on the pressure but the Thomastown back three of Ellen Davis, Sophie Wilson & the brilliant Georgie Rose Begley aided by keeper Maebh Hearne kept Stoney at bay. It was a super display from the girls with player of the match going to hat trick hero Lara Fargie.
