On Saturday the U14 Schoolgirls team played Killenaule Moyglass from Tipperary in the Regional Cup at home in United Park. Despite playing against the wind the home team dominated most of the play but chances were few and far between for either team resulting in a 0-0 halftime score.

Thomastown got off to a quick start in the second half and opened the scoring with a long range effort from Clodagh Galway. Killenaule seemed to be ignited into life by going a goal down and equalised soon after.

Both teams pushed for a winner and then with 5 minutes to go the away team scored to go one up. Killenaule pushed forward again and it took a great save from Sphie McCabe to keep the score 2-1, however from the resultant corner the away team scored again as the final whistle blew. Final Score 1-3.

Well done to Killenaule and best of luck in the next round, also a big thank you to the parents for all the refreshments (sandwiches and cakes) provided to both teams and travelling supporters after the game.
