Over the Bank Holiday weekend Thomastown United's United Park hosted The Kilkenny United May Bank Holiday Tournament for 2022. The competition was open to schoolboys and schoolgirls aged 9 to 11.

As well as the host club they were clubs representing all regions of the country, from Dublin we had such big names as Bohemians FC, Shelbourne and Home Farm. Amongst the other clubs taking part were Arklow Town, Aisling Annacotty, New Ross Celtic, Balrath FC, Lourdes Celtic and many more.

Despite the hectic schedule and demands of running of simultaneous competitions, due to the efficiency of the organiser and volunteers from the host club all events ran off smoothly and the club received high praise from participating teams, for the facilities provided and also the high quality of the pitches, which remained immaculate throughout the weekend despite the wet weather.

The club and Shane Murray, Chief Organiser with Kilkenny Unted, wish to thank all volunteers over the weekend who helped with the running of the tournament and prove that Thomastown United is one of the most progressive clubs in the region, with the facilities to cater for such large events.
