Thomastown U17 boys finished their final home league game with a 3-2 win over Deen Celtic. With keeper Alex Begley out injured Jamie Naddy stood between the posts for the home team. Deen Celtic took the lead early & doubled their lead after half an hour when they converted a penalty. Cian Courtney drew a good save from the Comer keeper & Thomastown were creating plenty of chances. When Aaron Hughes was played through it looked a certain goal but somehow from inside the 6 yard box the ball nearly ended up in the cages. Next to try was Jimmy Maher who danced his way through the Comer defence but shot straight at the keeper from 8 yards. Thomastown pulled 1 back just before half time when a speculative shot from Cian Courtney fell to Eanna O'Keeffe who buried it on the half volley. Into the second half & the home team were piling on the pressure looking for the equalizer. It came through a bit of individual brilliance from Cian Courtney who beat 3 defenders to find himself one on one with the keeper & managed to slot it into the bottom corner. The winner came soon after when Jack Hearne lofted in a free kick & Cian once again headed it into the top corner. Both teams finished with 10 men in what was a bad tempered affair. Player of the match goes to Conor Monks who was exceptional throughout & especially in the second half when he moved to centre back to replace the injured Tyler Nolan.

Team - Jamie Naddy, Adam Arthurs, Jack Hearne, Tyler Nolan, Tadgh Ryan, Bela Velic, Jimmy Maher, Conor Monks, Eanna O'Keeffe, Aaron Hughes, Cian Courtney, Conall Tobin, Frank Kavanagh.
