Thomastown U10s boys travelled to near neighbours Stoneyford in their third game of the Gerry Reilly Cup. The game finished nil all but it was an epic encounter between two strong teams. Both teams had periods of dominance in the first half with defences on top. Into the second half Stoney nearly took the lead but for a brilliant finger tip save from keeper Jack Moran. With Padraic Lyng driving forward from left back he had a couple of efforts just wide for Thomastown. With time running out & the crowd getting more vocal both teams had half chances to win it with Thomastown’s best falling to Danny White who didn’t quite get the connection he wanted. It was a unbelievable effort from the away team who withstood some serious spells of pressure. Player of the match goes to Padraic Lyng at left back who was rock solid at the back & composed when in possession.
