Thomastown United U14 Schoolgirls played against a strong and powerful Gorey Rangers team from the Wexford League on Saturday afternoon in a cold and windy United Park. A team consisting of Irish International goalkeeper and seven players who play with the Wexford League squad proved too good for our girls. Thomastown were still in the game and competitive at half time despite been 2 goals down. The second goal a magnificent volley scored by their star centre forward, age only 12 she looks someone with a big future ahead of her.

With the strong wind behind then the Wexford team ran out comfortable winners in the end.

A brave display by the home team who kept fighting till the end, particularly goalkeeper Roisin Dalton who made several brilliant saves plus a few unorthodox ones as well.
