The U10 boys continued their cup adventure with a home game against Bridge Utd. Thomastown played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half & they spent the majority of the half camped in the Bridge half. The home team struggled to break down Bridge & despite a couple of shots from James Tierney they looked to be heading into the break level only for a bit of magic from Michael Kirwan. Michael picked up the ball outside the box & beat 3 defenders before riffling a left footed shot to the roof of the net. In the second half Thomastown found themselves under a lot more pressure as the wind was a major factor. Despite the conditions the home team still had the best chances with Danny White, Jack Clifford & Cillan Phelan all having shots saved. With 8 minutes  to go Thomastown put the game to bed when Michael Kirwan scrambled home his second after great persistence. Bridge thought they had pulled one back but Bobby Brennan bravely stuck his head in the way of a rocket of a shot. Thomastown’s defenders Padraic Lyng & Tristian Donald were excellent today under severe pressure at times & player of the match goes to centre back Bobby Brennan who was superb throughout .

Team - Jack Moran, Tristian Donald, Bobby Brennan, Alex Quinn, Sean Cottrell, James Tierney, Cillan Phelan, Michael Kirwan, Danny White, Padraic Lyng, Jack Clifford.
