Our U12 boys picked up their first win of the season with a 4 nil win at home to Evergreen white. Thomastown were completely dominating in the first half & despite creating loads of chances the finishing was letting them down. The home team eventually took the lead with a well worked team goal finished by Sean Cottrell from James Tierney’s assist. Thomastown continued to miss chances & were nearly made to pay when Evergreen hit the outside of the post after a slip up in defence. Into the second half the boys got their second when centre half Bobby Brennan finished expertly after the Evergreen keeper saved Ryan Spelman’s thunderous free kick. The home team continued to dominate & Evergreen struggled to get past Thomastown’s defense with Padraic Lyng & Cillan Phelan excelling. Thomastown put the game to bed when Craig Walsh buried a shot from the edge of the box. In the last minute after some great work from James Tierney who won the ball back to set up Sean Cottrell who was through one on one & despite being under serious pressure rammed home to the roof of the net. It was a fair score line considering the dominance from the boys & they head to league leaders Stoney in 2 weeks full of confidence
