And so it came to pass, the final game of a long season, a group of young men travelled to Derdimus Park on a beautiful Summer's eve. destiny in their warm sweaty hands and dreams of glory in their head. Carrying the burden of history on their broad young shoulders, but a burden they have shown does not weigh them down from past experiences but who relish and thrive under these circumstances.

Invoking the spirit of past heroes and ghosts from the clubs glorious history, names like Frank Begley, Paudie Lannon and Charlie Gaule, modern heroes Andy Kavanagh, Sean Brennan and Stephen Connolly, the clubs ruling hierarchy, Larry O Neill and Willie Lannon for inspiration.

Under the watchful eyes of all family members, friends and spectators the team again didn't disappoint either themselves or the club.

Guided by the management team of Jack Denieffe, Bob Monks and Kevin Donnelly, who cajoled. manoeuvred and coaxed the best of these young men, not just today but all season long, and hopefully for seasons to come.

Two goals from Sean Denieffe and and one from Eanna O Keeffe underlined the dominant display by the team, and the glorious victory resulting in the League and Cup Double, not just for this year but the second year in a row.

A Spectacular way to round off the season on a high.....

Thanks to everyone for the blood, sweat and tears that was given throughout the season and have a good Summer.
